Benefits for Veterans

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers a myriad of benefits to veterans. As a general rule, a veteran is defined as someone who served in the armed forces of the United States. In 2015, VA reported that 55% of the 22.7 million veterans in the U.S are age 60 and older. There are several benefits available and more applicable to these senior veterans and their spouses.
